CD Cover Design Challenge

You have only 10 minutes to create a CD Cover using these constraints:

TIP: When designing with a photograph or illustration choose colors from the image or use a color scheme such as Complementary. Use fonts to enhance the concept.

  1. Canvas: Create a 5 x 5 inch document in Photoshop
    *
For Photoshop use a resolution of 100 ppi for the exercise.

  2. Image: Go to Flickr and the 3rd image on the top row is your image www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days (you can download or use a screenshot CMD+Shift+4). You can alter the image any way you wish.
    * If you revise this project for your portfolio be sure to use an image of your own

  3. Album Name: Go to www.quotationspage.com/random.php , scroll to the bottom and the last 4-5 words of the last quote on the page are your album name.

  4. Band's Name: Go to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random, the title of the article is your Band's Name.

  5. Fonts: You can only use fonts you have on your computer.

  6. Add your image and text into Photoshop. Your image will be on a layer below your text.

  7. Use the Layers panel, Options Bar for Tools, Properties panel, Move tool, and Type Tool to complete the assignment in Photoshop.
