DUE Week 3: Organizing & Branding

Projects Due:

Building Your About Page/ Giving your Site Personality and a Brand

ABOUT Page

ABOUT Page Tips:
READ!!!!! http://justcreative.com/2012/09/18/art-of-personal-branding/
and
http://www.sitepoint.com/5-ways-to-truly-personalize-your-about-me-page/

-Bullet list of sentences to describe you as a designer and some of your hobbies
Think about:
  • Inspirations
  • Reoccurring themes in your work
  • Interests you have
  • Hobbies
  • Aspects of design and art you enjoy the most
  • Elaborate on who you are a a designer and what makes you stand out

-Your bio will be used on your About Me page and parts of it can also be used as part of a profile on your resume. Don't think formal, think interesting, personable and compelling!
- Your About page should answer the Five Ws: Who, What, When, Where, How
Read the 5Ws from Sixrevisions.com

-Write professionally (spelling and grammar check required) but use a voice to make it more personal

-Think about a graphic or type graphic you could use to creatively express some ideas

- Think about using motion! Think about interactivity.

-THINK SHOW not just TELL. How can you visually SHOW information, rather than TELL people information (infographics, motion graphics, interaction, etc.)
What can you show me about yourself rather than just throw words at me. Do you do spray paint art? Show me and create a spray paint graphic relevant to your About page. Video yourself doing it, even better, and show me the process in a sped up time frame. Send me a message I won't soon forget.

Tagline: pgs  16-17 & 20-21

Create a Tagline, something simple. Could be 3 descriptive words or a sentence. Keep it short, imagine it as an ad slogan

For the tagline think of this as a quick way to introduce yourself. Something catchy or a few words that describe you and what you do. Here are some examples: http://brandongaille.com/list-31-catchy-graphic-design-slogans-and-good-taglines/
